Omoto Shrine
November 6 (Wednesday) Weather: Sunny with occasional clouds

As part of our on-site investigation, we also visited Omoto Shrine, the inner shrine of Usa Shrine.
The tourist association has received many inquiries about Omoto Shrine, and the number of visitors is increasing. It is located at the 9th station of Mt. Mikkoyama and takes about 40 to 50 minutes to climb the mountain path.
Also, there are no buses to the trailhead, so the only way to get there is by car.
Previously, there were many hiking trails, including from the Usa Shrine and Nishiyashiki areas, but currently the only one that has been maintained is the Shokakuji route, which we visited this time, so please be careful when visiting.

① In front of Usa Jingu (Usa Tourist Association) (20 minutes by car) ② Entrance to the Shokakuji Temple trailhead on Route 658 (10 minutes by car) ③ Shokakuji Temple parking lot/Mikyoyama trailhead (30 minutes on foot) ⑤ Tatsuishi and Kogoishi stones (10 minutes on foot) ⑥⑦ Omoto Shrine (30 minutes on foot) Shokakuji Temple parking lot

①Depart from Usa Jingu (Usa City Tourism Association)
The navigator is Taguchi, a local revitalization volunteer!
②Shogakuji Temple Parking Lot Entrance
The entrance is along Route 658. It is difficult to find from the Ajimu direction.
The road narrows from here on, so please drive with caution.
③Shogakuji Route Parking Lot/Miyokoyama Trailhead
There is an explanatory sign near the trailhead to Omoto Shrine.
Shokakuji Route Parking Lot, can accommodate about 10 cars
④Mt. Okonomiyaki hiking trail
The first 20 minutes or so of the climb are very steep.
There are a lot of stones underfoot and it is very difficult to walk.
Once you get past that, it's flat and easy to walk.
⑤Dragon Stone and God Stone
After walking for about 30 minutes, you will see the Dragon Stone and the God Rock on your left.
Both stones are in the shade of trees and are easy to miss without the signs.
⑥9th Station, near Omoto Shrine
Omoto Yasaka Shrine
⑦Arrived at Omoto Shrine, the inner shrine of Usa Shrine!!
After 50 minutes of climbing, we finally arrived.
⑧Notes on the way home
This is the road that leads down to Usa Shrine. It is not well maintained so please do not go down.
After descending, walk for about 5 minutes and you will come to a path that leads down to Nishiyashiki, so be careful not to get lost.
